Now that the CDC is leaning toward asking us all in the US to wear a mask, I thought I share a crochet version here.
It seems that the consensus is; even a little protective barrier is better than none.
I lined my mask with 3 layers of fabric. 2 cotton fabric with a felt fabric in the middle. If you don’t have felt fabric then lined it with any tightly woven fabric you have
I made two sizes, both of them fit me well. One gives me more side coverage than the other. The brown one fits my 12 years old daughter well.

Lining

Put the face mask on a paper. Trace and cut to make a template.
Use the template to cut fabric. Cut 3
Layer this way: cotton, felt fabric, cotton
I placed the lining on the crochet piece then steamed iron to fold neatly the edges of the lining. This make sewing the fabric to the crochet piece much easier, and it gives a neat finish.
