I have been admiring the lightweight knitted sweater in my Instagram feed. I wanted to create a crochet sweater that looks knitted. After few trial and error the Leysha sweater was born.
Just look at the stich pattern, it does look knitted, right?
This is also my first time making a garment using a fine weight yarn. I used DY Choice yarn that I had in my stash for few years. After I finished the sweater while I was writing the pattern, I found out that the DY Choice yarn is discontinued. The closest yarn feel and weight I found in my stash is Woolike yarn by Loops & Threads. Hence, the yarn listed in the pattern.
From now on before advancing with a project that will turn into a pattern, I will definitely check the availability of the yarn
I wanted to add a pop of color. Stripes being so in this spring season, I used the stripes as a border hem and tied it to a little stripe line on the sleeves
Don’t you love the zigzag stripes effect made with this rich blue color? Another color combo I have in mind is grey and coral. hmm I might make another one with that color combo.

Size: XS, (S, M, L, XL)
Material
Yarn weight: Fine 2, or any that gives the needed gauge
Woolike Yarn by Loops & Threads
Color A (grey) 4 to 5 skeins (2700 to 3300 yards)
Color B (blue) 1 skein
3.5 mm hook & 4.5 mm hook

- how to Increase in the round to create a perfect circles with no bumps. This technique can be utilize when making rugs or doilies.
- Joining method that gives a beautiful finish in the center back of the sweater
